The IEEE 802.15 Working Group on Wireless Specialty Networks is a working group of the 802 LAN/ MAN Standards Committee Computer Society. It chartered to develop interoperability standards addressing wireless networking for emerging Internet Things applications. Among many has been developing, 802.15.4, Standard LowRate Networks, one popular ones whose technology used different higher-layer standards, such as ZigBee, Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART), and 6LoWPAN. 802.15.4 defines physical layer (PHY) medium access control (MAC) sublayer specifications low-data-rate, low-power, lowcomplexity connectivity with fixed, portable, moving devices no or very limited battery consumption requirements. In addition, it operating modes that support precision ranging capability, which can be accurate 1 m.
